New Life for the Cloche

A couple weeks ago I found this cloche with a wood base at the thrift store for $2. Score! I already had one cloche, but without the wood base, so I was very excited to find one with the base. Cloches are so great and very versatile for decorating. But I thought it might be kind of fun to update it a bit.  So I decided to take that wood base and paint it a bright fun turquoise.  I used the same technique that I used on the wood salt and pepper shakers a while back.  I used just 2 light coats of paint, but making sure its evenly covered.  picmonkey_image (28)

Once the paint is nice and dry (I let mine dry over night) then with some fine sandpaper you can add a light distressing.

And that’s it.  A fun little update to the old wood base.  A nice way to brighten up a room!
